From your study of the cross, what do you think/feel?
What should our response to that love be?
2 Cor. 5:14-21
- To be sin for us – took our place.
- “He committed to us” – take his place.
- Ambassador – represents, embodies.
- A true connection with the cross compels us to live for him.
- We must make a commitment/decision to no longer live for ourselves.
- How will this change your life?
Luke 9:23–26
- Starts here – a heart change must take place first.
- It will not always be easy.
Luke 14:25-33
- Not a shallow commitment – “even his own life.”
- What will characterize our life?
- Love Matt. 22:34-40 – Loving God 1 Cor 13: 1-8 – Loving people
- Serving Matt. 20:27 – life will not be about “me.”
- Obedient John 14:23, 24 – (1 John 2:3-6)
- Making disciples Matt 28:18-20 – student; imitator. Luke 19:10
- Worship Him Rom 12:1, 2 – not as a performance, but the natural outcome of Jesus being Lord.
Have you made Jesus Lord of your life and lived as his ambassador?
If our lives are not characterized this way, what does it reflect?
