The East Triangle Church of Christ is excited to announce an opportunity to get involved with our community here in the Triangle through an organization called Triangle Impact . Galatians 5:13 – 14 says “…serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Triangle Impact is a volunteer organization that is an affiliate of the Hands On Network, which is a national organization committed to making volunteering possible for anyone willing to volunteer from the busiest of people to even those with disabilities. They focus on short-term, hands-on projects and are scheduled on nights and week-ends. The projects can be completed in just a few hours.
Triangle Impact works with Habitat for Humanity, the Food Bank of Raleigh, the Ronald McDonald House and Second Chance Pet Adoptions on an ongoing monthly basis. There are specific days each month set aside for these opportunities. There are other projects that become available as well.
Becoming a volunteer for Triangle Impact is extremely easy. Simply go to their website, www.triangleimpact.org, and register to volunteer. You will be required to fill out a very brief registration form which will allow you to access their monthly calendar to view the projects currently available for sign up. When you click on a particular project, it will give you information about the project including the number of volunteers needed. You can also sign up to receive a monthly calendar of the volunteer opportunities through your e-mail, which is a great way to keep informed of the upcoming projects.
There is flexibility for individuals, including children, and family groups to volunteer, however, if a family group chooses to get involved in a project, be aware there is a limited number of volunteers needed for each project and there may not be openings for everyone in your group. If you would like to do a project as an entire group, contact one of the project leaders on the website and they will be happy to see what might be available for your group.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jim McDougle (467-2037), Deacon of Community Service.
