All college students and high school seniors are invited to the Southeast Campus Retreat from January 30 – February 1, 2009 at the Lifeway Ridgecrest Conference Center in Asheville, NC. The theme is “Useful to the Master”. Disciples (and their friends) from all over the Southeast U.S. will be gathering for a weekend of fun, faith, and fellowship. On November 23 at 10am the Triangle Church (in Chapel Hill) will be hosting a Women’s Day with guest speaker Cynthia Powell from the NYC Church of Christ . The theme is “Only One Thing is Needed.” Please come at 9:30 for coffee, bagels and fellowship. Limited childcare is available for guests, so please arrange to leave your children with people in your family group.
In order replenish our food pantry, we will be having a “Can Drive” on Sunday, November 23. We are asking that each family in the church bring one or two cans of food to donate. On Sunday, November 23, we will be “breaking bread together” by having a meal at church at 5pm. During this time, we will take communion, sing, and have a brief Bible Study. This will be our Worship Service that day. There will be no meeting at 10am that morning. Each Family Group is asked to bring a meal for your group with extra to share. Please bring turkey or ham, side dishes, bread, and desserts. All paper products, utensils, drinks, cups, and ice will be provided. All food will be served buffet style. Volunteers are needed to set-up (move chairs and tables) on Wednesday (11/19) after midweek. Also, each Family Group should plan to have volunteers stay to clean up afterwards on Sunday. This will be a great time of “love” and “feasting” for the whole church!

Mark your calendars. Financial Peace University returns to the East Triangle Church of Christ. We are excited to offer Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University program to members and friends of East Triangle Church of Christ. Classes will begin on January 25, 2009. Financial Peace University is a 13-week financial program that will teach you how to get a handle on your financial situation and to make the right decisions about money. Thanks to all the members, parents, and teens who helped to redecorate the teen room or who donated items for the room. We still have a couple of things to complete, however we are happy with the results thus far.
Winterfest is a Christian teen festival held in Gatlinburg, TN on Feb 20-22, 2009. The initial fee is $35 and the remaining $65 can be paid later. The last day to sign up will be December 7th. See Eddie Field or Darrell Kain
